Lead Software Engineer
Vlad is part of the Systems team, and is involved in the software aspects of running many of the REANNZ internal and externally facing systems, including Tuakiri, the New Zealand Access Federation.
He also contributes to REANNZ on a number of other software projects, such as helping open source projects make their code work and contributing back fixes and improvements created in the process.
Prior to starting his career in the research and education space in New Zealand, Vlad received his PhD in Computer Science from the Charles University in Prague. He spent a few years in academia, but eventually opted to change sides to instead support other researchers in getting their research done.
When not hacking code Vlad spends his time enjoying the New Zealand lifestyle, spending time with his family, and enjoying the outdoors.
